Palmetto Software

You’ll be working with Richard.

Palmetto Software is run by Richard Stanton, a Charleston-area entrepreneur who’s been building businesses online since 1997 — back when selling anything on the internet still needed explaining.

His interest in technology goes back further than that. Far enough to remember loading software off cassette tapes.

Background

  • Building websites and doing business online since 1997.
  • One of the early eCommerce sellers.
  • Built software, eCommerce and product-based businesses — all ultimately acquired.
  • Six-time Inc. 500.
  • More than 25 years working with business systems, processes and operations.

Why Palmetto Software works this way

For more than 25 years, Richard kept ending up in the same conversation. A business owner would describe something in their company that drove them crazy, and it usually turned out software could fix it.

He did that for friends and other owners across a lot of different industries. Construction, retail, distribution, services. Different businesses, same pattern.

Palmetto Software turns that instinct into a focused business.

Rather than asking business owners to tell us what software they want, we ask them to show us what’s not working. Then we figure out whether software can fix it.

It’s a better starting point. Owners know their problems cold. Almost nobody knows what to ask a software company to build.

Personal, selective and hands-on

Palmetto Software is deliberately boutique. We take on a small number of Design Partners at a time because the work only succeeds if we’re genuinely in your business, watching how it runs.

You work directly with Richard and the people building your product. No account managers. No handoffs to a team you never meet. No six-month engagement that grows every month.

We’re local, so we come to you. We can meet your employees, stand where the work happens and see the problem ourselves. That’s hard to do from another state, and it’s most of why this works.
